Furniture design asset produced for Final Fantasy XIV's 'Furnishing Design Contest 2025', it was one of the contest winners.
I designed a cast iron stove, it was inspired predominantly by a mix of two things: the in-game Lominsan cultural aesthetic (which uses a lot of sturdy dark iron), and the antique metal stove in my parent's Cornish house. I really wanted something that felt cosy, but still old-fashioned enough to fit in more classic fantasy housing builds. The hob was interesting, because fire can be hard to animate; so I elected to do glowing rings instead. The fried egg is probably my favourite part, which I specified should sizzle for that homely and rustic vibe. This was also inspired by the 'cook egg' emote (a player character animation), which my friend often spams haha.
